Vera Mueller, a resident at Sauer Health Care in Winona, Minn., may be the oldest to survive the coronavirus in the country at 104-years-old, according to MPR News.

MPR News reported Vera Mueller was diagnosed with the virus and quarantined at the Sauer facility on March 25. Her 70-year-old son, Bob Mueller, said her fever came down on March 28 and was moved back to her own room when she began to feel better afterwards.

"She's smiling and waving. For being 104, you never know. We take it a day at a time," Bob Mueller said.

As a survivor, Vera Mueller may be the oldest person to contract the coronavirus and survive, according to MPR News.

Kris Ehresmann, director of Infectious Disease Epidemiology at the Prevention and Control at the Minnesota Department of Health, said she could not comment on individual cases. However, she did confirm the oldest person to contract the disease is 104, said the Star Tribune.

The Star Tribune reported by April 6, Vera Mueller's fever was gone and she never had to use a ventilator during her treatment.

"She's 104-years-old. She's wearing out," Bob Muller said. "She survived the virus here and everything. But she's just worn out. It's going to take a long time to build back up."

Vera Mueller has survived a flu pandemic, a Great War, a Great Depression, a Second World War and now, the coronavirus, according to the Star Tribune.
